I’ve collected a jumble of names.
Like book titles each has a job.
Some make readers grin.
Some take them deeper,
enticing to turn one page, then another.
Some are meant to yank them between the covers
and not let go until the story’s done.
Some are boundaries
between one part of life and another.

I leave them at our door.
Strip them off like garments:
the professional name,
the author names,
the nicknames,
the avatar names.
So many names.
I don’t know which is me.

When I step into our world,
into your arms,
into your love,
I’m a me I barely know:
No title.
No tag line.
In you I simply am.
